CAS is currently seeking an Organizational Development Consultant. This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Division and Unit Overview

Human Resources is responsible for developing and implementing human resource strategies and programs for the American Chemical Society (ACS). The HR team has the challenge of achieving exceptional customer satisfaction, thus having a direct impact on the value and quality of HR solutions. The customer base is diverse, including current, former and potential employees, management business partners, American Chemical Society management and Executive Team, fellow HR Team members and outside vendors. The Society’s HR Team is responsible for coordinating efforts and programs with the Ohio-based HR team and takes the lead, and corporate position in the area of Society-wide benefits planning and administration.

 

 

Qualifications:

College degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree or equivalent experience desired

2-5 years of experience supporting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training initiatives preferred

Strong interpersonal, project management and excellent communication skills required

2-5 years of experiences in instructional design, employee development, and competency development preferred

(may require travel)

 

 

Duties:

This role is within a high energy team focused on facilitating experiential learning solutions to help leaders and employees perform at their best. This position reports to the Director, Organizational Effectiveness (OE) within Human Resources and assists in designing, developing and implementing programs that increase organizational effectiveness, including, but not limited to: building a culture that promotes Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Respect; training design and facilitation; new leader orientation; leadership development; communication planning and implementation; leadership coaching; and training initiatives within CAS and the broader American Chemical Society (ACS).


The incumbent will work with leadership to identify training best practices incorporating behavioral science to enhance the employee experience. This position may also be called upon to assist the manager in helping ACS staff adjust to new policies and procedures during times of change.

Supports the planning, management, and implementation of OE initiatives, including but not limited to organization analysis, design and realignment; and leader and team effectiveness.

Monitors organizational culture and the development of culture-building initiatives that increase employee engagement and key organizational values and core competencies.

Assesses learning and development needs and develop effective learning and development strategies and materials to address those needs.

Is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering a variety of training content leveraging exceptional facilitation skills.

Develops communication plans and materials, including delivering HR and OE-related presentations for large teams and leadership teams.

Collaborates with internal HR Business Partners to assess performance gaps and respond to organizational development issues through experiential programs to accelerate organizational capabilities.

Manages both internal and external customer relationships and expectations effectively; influences thinking surrounding complex organizational problems and enables the acquisition of new knowledge, skills, and behaviors.
