CAS is currently seeking a Software Engineer.  This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

CAS has an opportunity within our application development area for a software engineer focused on tooling within our private cloud environments who can deliver strong contributes to our mission to provide world class products and services. 

 

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience on a Linux-based customer-facing application DevOps team

 

Hands-on experience in all phases of application software development cycle, including on a production environment

 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Engineering, or related discipline

 

Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with application, operations, and platform teams

 

High-quality standards and attention to detail

 

Verifiable skills with the following tools and technologies:

    • UNIX tools and shell script development
    • Git/Gerrit
    • Ansible, Puppet or another configuration management tool
    • Jenkins or another distributed job runner
    • Virtualization technologies like AWS, Openstack, Kubernetes
    • Docker, ELK, Artifactory, HAproxy, Kafka, Flume
    • Prometheus/AlertManager/Alerta

Duties:

Manage tools and tooling for a large application development shop

Development tools and processes that allow staff to operate development, test, and production systems efficiently

Automate the flow of configuration changes through the different environments

Document new processes and keep existing documentation and tools up to date as the environment changes

Triage, support, and prevent production, test, load and development issues.

Coordinate and support deployment of new releases and configuration changes to development, functional testing, load testing and production environments, including triaging issues in these environments

Collaborate with teammates and product owners grooming backlogs of epics and stories for upcoming development sprints.

Advance the local state-of-the-art in DevOps engineering by helping to drive automation and tooling in support of application development and delivery pipelines.

Stay abreast of the latest technology trends through individual and team training opportunities.

Provide leadership for production and change management processes including after-hours and 24 x 7 on-call support on a shared/rotational basis.
