CAS is currently seeking a BI&A Product Owner. This position will be based in our headquarters in Columbus, OH.
Position Summary
The Business Intelligence & Analytics Product Owner is responsible for using data, data analytics and data visualization tools to help CAS make more effective business decisions. This role will partner with the business to understand their needs, the context of their data to support the development of analytical solutions to improve business performance and drive outcomes.
Position Accountabilities
- This role is responsible for using data, data analytics and data visualization tools to help CAS make more effective business decisions by creating a series of internal data products.
- Responsible for understanding business processes, developing use cases, writing user stories, acceptance testing and contributing to the development of cost/benefit analysis for the creation of data analytic solutions and digital tools that will provide insights for CAS’ business.
- Functions as a proactive thought partner working with various business stakeholders to develop the BI&A use case to improve business outcomes through the delivery of data analysis and dashboards.
- This position will partner directly with the business to understand business priorities and translate that into data needs and desired outcomes to inform the build of our internal analytic products (dashboards/reports).
- Responsible for writing user stories and requirements through collaboration with the business while working with technology and data governance teams.
- This position will groom a backlog of additional features and data to align and support the BI&A (Business Intelligence and Analytics) roadmap working closely with our Data Governance and Technology team.
- Serves as a subject matter expert (SME), super-user and product evangelist for a variety of data, analytics, and digital tools.
- Works with cross functional teams to understand and resolve business process gaps that create challenges in using data to derive insights and opportunities within CAS’ business.
Education/Experience/Technological Knowledge
- Bachelor’s Degree required (preferred in IT/Business/Science/Math)
- 10+ years of experience in business data analysis, requirements building, cross functional teams, leading needs analysis conversations and/or delivering data visualizations
- Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills with sharp business value judgment
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team, can balance competing priorities, manage multiple concurrent projects, identify problems, and anticipate needs, resolve data problems, create and maintain documentation for processes
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills including excellent client relationship skill sets with the ability to communicate analytical terms in non-analytical business language.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize quickly and effectively both in individual work and in the assessment of business requirements/user stories.
- The ability to influence and drive cross functional teams.
- A working knowledge of the agile software development process
- Experience with SQL, Tableau, and/or other analytical technologies
Physical Demands and Work Environment
