CAS is currently seeking a Web Developer.  This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.


The Front-End Developer is responsible for using their technical knowledge of programming languages to code websites and web applications to help CAS achieve business objectives. Aside from these technical aspects they ensure an alignment of web design and user experience requirements, optimizing web pages for maximum efficiency, and maintaining brand consistency across all web pages. His/her duties include communicating with marketing peers to determine their needs and design preferences, applying the brand standards, and creating code for the front and back-end of a website and running tests to ensure that all operates as expected.


On any given workday this web developer will:

· Build and optimize a secure website to support the evolving business needs of CAS

· Provide continued support for one CAS.org and other web properties.

· Collaborate with graphic designers, content authors, external vendors, services, and agencies to create a consistent online user experience that meets their needs and expectations

· Perform routine site audits, as well as ongoing maintenance, on an as-needed basis.

· Apply strong problem solving skills and attention to detail to deliver experiences that engage our customers and accomplish CAS marketing objectives.

· Maintain communication with team members and supervisors concerning the direction of the website.

· Get to work with a diverse team of professionals who genuinely have a passion doing great work and are not afraid to learn new things


The ideal person for this job…

· Has worked closely with marketing or in a marketing organization in the past, can work well from a solid brief, and may have some experience working for a B2B business.

· Has a mastery of web coding, creating responsive interfaces that incorporate accessibility and SEO best practices.

· Ensuring user experience determines functional design of the interface.

· Developing features to enhance the user experience while maintaining brand consistency throughout the design.

· Building reusable code for future use and optimizing web pages for maximum speed and scalability.

· Likes to work with people. The people of CAS are its greatest asset.

· Has a critical mind, realizes the gift of solid feedback is more than a cliché, and is always seeking ways to improve upon yesterday.

· Has experience supporting websites offered in multiple languages

· Is comfortable with occasional ambiguity and not afraid to ask questions.


A qualified candidate has experience:

· Developing experiences for a digital-first (and mobile) environment

· Proficiency (7+ years experience) in programming languages including HTML, Javascript, CSS

· Has a firm understanding of key design principles and online user interface conventions.

· Experience with content management systems (CMS) and marketing automation platforms (MAP) to support the execution of multi-tactic digital campaigns

· Understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) practices

· Online delivery of PDF, Video, and other file types

· Experience working with web analytics platforms and creating web performance reports.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently

· Ability to troubleshoot and optimize web pages for function, security, and responsiveness

· Understanding of network diagnostics and analytical tools
