CAS is currently seeking an Information Scientist. This position will be based in our headquarters in Columbus, OH.

CAS is currently seeking a skilled Chemist to learn structuring policies, substance registration rules and nomenclature for database building, with an anticipated emphasis on natural products chemistry. Specific responsibilities include performing various tasks related to maintaining the accuracy and consistency of CAS databases, providing names for chemical substances, and assisting with other projects, as needed. The successful candidate will be an excellent team player who is willing to adapt to the needs and requirements of an agile organization. 

Minimum Job Requirements
•    Candidates must have a minimum of a MS in Chemistry or Biochemistry, PhD preferred.
•    Solid knowledge of organic/natural products chemistry.
•    Knowledge of chemical structure representation is preferred.
•    A self-driven person who is open-minded and willing to expand skills and domain knowledge.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Good time management and multi-tasking abilities.
•    Strong interpersonal skills and effective communications skills, including the ability to communicate with peers with diverse backgrounds. 
•    Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
