CAS is currently seeking a Manager, IP Search. This position is remote US based.


Position Summary

The Manager, IP Search is responsible for managing CAS IP Services. Manages and develops strategies, marketing and business plans and staff for the CAS IP Services service.


Responsible for achieving product revenue goals through development, planning, and implementation of strategic product plans. Responsible for ensuring effective positioning of product to customers.


Also, responsible for product performance, staff performance, and customer satisfaction.


Position Accountabilities

  1. Manages the IP Search service professional staff.
  2. Ensures frequent customer contact is maintained thru phone calls, emails, virtual meetings and visits to large customers and conferences.
  3. Makes CAS Science IP the market leader in providing IP searches.  Ensures that the quality of the search reports are world class.
  4. Identifies issues and influence business and marketing strategy to achieve revenue goals.  Participates with Sales Division and Senior Management in discussions to determine and execute CAS’s strategy in line with business needs.
  5. Strategizes, plans, analyzes, and formulates all aspects of product and marketing development proposals.
  6. Maintains awareness of competitive products and corresponding strategies. Provides reports regularly.
  7. Develops and recommends marketing and sales objectives, including sales volume and profit forecasts for assigned product and staff.
  8. Identifies and recommend changes, improvements, corrections, and deletions to assigned products based on internal and external factors.


Minimum Education/Experience/Technological Knowledge

  • Advanced Degree Science, Law, or Business with subject area Chemistry or Science; BA, BS, PhD, JD, or MBA preferred
  • 7 or more years of direct sales experience
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office applications including all CAS products and web browsers
  • Strong business and analytical skills
  • Excellent customer relations, negotiation, written and oral communications skills
  • Strong understanding of the information and chemical industries
  • Knowledge of CAS products
  • Experience in patenting and/or patent information preferred
