CAS is currently seeking an Enterprise Architect. This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.
Position Summary
As an Enterprise Architect covering applications design in our Technology Division, you will be a critical member of our Enterprise Architecture team at the forefront of innovation driving our scientific information search solutions and empowering customer success.
As an Enterprise Applications Architect, you will be a strategic technology leader responsible for establishing the end-to-end vision of how CAS designs and builds our technical environment, processes, and applications to create our product. Not a dictator, but rather the first among equals, you will collaborate with a variety of key leaders and stakeholders, including Product Technical Leads, Enterprise Area Architects, Solution Architects, Data Management teams, Application and Data Analytic Managers and Data Engineers to ensure developed solutions adhere to established best patterns and the CAS architectural target state. This role is highly technical with strong leadership, strong interpersonal skills, and application development acumen and technical competencies needed to deliver durable solutions.
Qualifications
- 4-year degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in application construction and design.

Minimum of 3+ years’ experience as an application or Solution Architect.

Minimum of 3+ years of experience working in Cloud platforms, preferably AWS (Amazon Web Services).

A proven history of driving positive change and organizational change management.

A proven history of strategic thinking and outcomes-based technology and development decision making.

Deep understanding of Applications Architecture and development best practices.

Proven leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Possess advanced critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Effective team building skills.

Knowledge of DevOps principles and implementation of CI/CD within cloud platforms (i.e., AWS) is a plus.

Strong business acumen and project finance skills.

Outstanding interpersonal, facilitation, organizational savvy, and presentation skills.

Experience working independently required and in an Agile team environment is a plus.

Ability to influence and gain commitment at all organizational levels.

Duties
-
Working with Senior Leadership and Directors, act to recommend, lead and improve processes, tools, and techniques for all significant development efforts. This will include driving purchases of new tools and their implementation.

Drive and manage change into development teams and technology managers.

Work with other Enterprise architects, network and infrastructure architects, data architects and other technical leaders to craft, communicate and implement coherent strategies that allow us to improve the velocity and quality of our product and internal architectures.

Meeting with business partners, users & stakeholders to capture and analyze requirements for development, shared services, and reporting needs.

Defining in conjunction with partners within the developing organizations, the development architecture, applications architecture, framework, standards, and principles, including & reference templates and microservices templates.

Build example applications demonstrating the full suite of tools, techniques, and processes.

Develop and continuously enhance the enterprise application development strategy and reference architectures.

Play a key role in engaging parts of the CAS Technology staff and peers to ensure a successful rollout program.

Ability to perform many tasks during the creation of a solution including project management, technical architecture and design, AWS implementation, technology strategy, work estimation, and budgets.

Qualify innovative technologies and software products prior to attempting to introduce them to CAS.

Lead the triage of complex issues, recommending and implementing short / long terms solutions to address items found in discovery

Design, implement and analyze performance optimization of code and architecture

Identify and propose efforts to eliminate redundant applications and Integrations.

Change agent to anticipate technology opportunities and support business initiatives
