CAS is currently seeking a UX Designer.  This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

 

The Technology division is responsible for the direction, planning, coordination, and management of the organization’s information resources. Technology builds, enhances, and maintains online products and scientific databases; creates and maintains various applications to support research efforts of scientists, information professionals, patent examiners, corporations, and law firms worldwide. The division also provides resources to employees, technical support for products and services, manages state of the art onsite data center, creates security policies, and sets internal standards for best practices in Technology project management.

 

The Services division executes projects that help our customers achieve their own business outcomes. Working closely with customers, Services leverages CAS people, technology, platforms, and products to supply customized solutions. By enabling our customers to realize value in CAS, we are creating a customer for life.

 

A Typical Day

  • Architect, publish and maintain Adobe XD design libraries comprised of design components, reusable UI assets which adhere to the existing design language.
  • Leverage Adobe XD and Adobe CC specific features including components, shared libraries and branches.
  • Validate and ingest new library additions/contributions from design and marketing.
  • Develop clickable prototypes and collaborate with Product Managers and research to conduct user research testing.
  • Edit all published components to reflect the latest changes received from stakeholders and partner teams.
  • Develop design change management workflows via change logs, timestamps and Adobe XD.
  • Interface with UX Manager, stakeholders, Product Managers and development teams to have visibility into the latest product specs and launch deliverables.
  • Partner with Experience Designers, Engineers, and Creatives to define problems and goals, develop processes, and craft production deliverables at the highest quality in service of CAS product launches/releases.
  • Inform how the design team interfaces with other functions such as product management, engineering, external partners and marketing.
  • Coach, mentor, and collaborate with colleagues and influence other cross-functional partners on the importance of UX principles and practices.

 

Your Expertise

  • 5 or more years of relevant experience on a creative team, either in-house or agency.
  • Superb presentation abilities to communicate your designs and their importance to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Depth of experience in Adobe XD or Figma and publishing of shared libraries.
  • Expert creative and technical problem solver with a fanatical attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of digital/graphic file formats.
  • Self-directed, can work autonomously and lead others to deliver on a goal.
  • Strong knowledge of search usability standards and WCAG v2.1+ compliance.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with great attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and diplomacy/stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in UI/UX design or another relevant design and/or science field.

The work schedule at CAS, consists of working onsite at least three days per week. While always welcome to work in the office, employees may work the other two days of the week from their home.
