Position Summary

The Advertising Traffic & Operations Associate reports to the Advertising Operations Manager and will support the day-to-day production and ad operations of campaigns in print, digital, lead generation, classifieds, and C&EN jobs career center. This role actively contributes to the success of the global advertising sales team, ensuring full delivery and performance for our advertising client’s campaigns in order to meet revenue goals. S/he is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to advertising clients and agencies, and serves in a direct support role for the global advertising sales team.

The Advertising Operations Associate will be responsible for the collection, execution, and management of ad campaigns. Responsibilities include, inventory management, advertising materials collection, pre-flight and Q/A testing of advertising creative, posting creative assets, 3rd party tags and monitoring delivery throughout the flight of the campaign from the insertion order to the post-campaign wrap up.  In addition to campaign delivery, the incumbent will need to optimize and provide proactive feedback to clients and sales team on campaign performance to ensure campaign delivery is on track to meet client objectives.

 

Position Accountabilities:

  • Serves as the main point of contact for advertisers from the insertion order process. Sends confirmation emails thanking the client for the advertising order with appropriate deadlines and material specifications. Responsible for collection of assets from the agency/client.
  • Maintains position charts and inventory counts of products, and ensures calendars are up to date.
  • Pre-flight campaign by checking creative to ensure correct specifications, file size, animation, click URL is all set up and running correctly through Google Ad Manager (GAM), Nativo and Adventive. Provides client a proof of the digital ad with a screenshot/test links. Occasionally, design of advertising creative may be required. 
  • Proactively troubleshoots technical issues with client and vendor to ensure the campaign is set to run successfully. Provide technical QA support on standard and custom executions.
  • Ensures smooth delivery of campaign by reviewing pacing of inventory and mitigating any discrepancies.  Problem-solve under-performing ads, and provide recommendations to improve.
  • Maintains communication with client and sales team throughout the campaign for opportunities to optimize, target or enhance campaigns. Collaborates with the sales team on proposals and identifies potential to up-sell and cross-sell products based on successful campaign metrics. Supports marketing and sales team on providing inventory for campaigns. Assists in development of sales collateral such as case studies and updates to rates and specs sheets.
  • Provides timely monthly report to client, sales, operations, marketing and finance team with metrics including unique visitors, total visitors, page views, time on site and other relevant campaign metrics.
  • Releases billing information for both domestic and international invoices to appropriate finance contact.  Validates impressions through the delivery platform of the ad campaign, which can include DFP, Eloqua and GTxcel.

 

Required Experience:

College degree or equivalent experience or relevant experience.  Advanced proficiency with DFP or similar ad server, and familiarity with ad servers (Google Ad Manager, Nativo) and  HTML for serving ads is required.  Proficiency with graphic design software, including the Adobe Creative Suite. Candidate must be detail oriented with strong written and communication skills.  Must be able to stay organized with multiple projects and tight deadlines.  Proven track record of building strong relationships with sales. Experience with Salesforce.com and agency experience preferred.
