Position Summary

 

The candidate will be responsible for providing expertise, direction, and operational support of ACS web analytics for our digital channels, including Chemical & Engineering News (cen.acs.org), the ACS website (www.acs.org), and the ACS Network (communities.acs.org) as well as Search and SEO functions.

 

 

Position Accountabilities

 

  1. Provide expertise and operational support of web analytics and SEO to track and optimize site usage, content consumption, and user loyalty. Help define, implement, and maintain standards for web analytics reporting, allowing the data to be reported, queried, filtered, and presented as needed.
  2. Collaborate with Society leadership and business stakeholders to develop dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to help drive business performance.
  3. Provide input for strategic direction, growth, and evolution of the WSO web analytics program, ensuring that it aligns with global best practices, trends, and changes in product landscapes.
  4. Create mechanisms to encourage and support web analytics literacy among staff. Develop and facilitate training for users of ACS analytics platforms and build a repository of web analytics training materials.
  5. Troubleshoot and support issues involving our web analytics and tagging implementations.
  6. Provide access to analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Content Square, Verint ForeSee) for ACS staff, consultants, and vendors, as needed.
  7. Maintain awareness of the digital analytics field, trends, and product landscape. Evaluate the effectiveness of the analytics tools and practices periodically, seeking to propose changes, enhancements, or discontinuation.
  8. Participate in other projects as needed/assigned.

 

 

Education/Experience/Technological Knowledge

 

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent experience required. Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of and/or a proven record of success in analytics projects that include Google Analytics and/or Adobe Analytics (minimum 3 years recent experience as a web analyst on the platform), experience with Adobe Launch or Google Tag Manager, knowledge of best practices for web analytics systems, analysis and reporting tools, campaign tracking experience, experience with SEO tools (e.g., Moz, Screaming Frog), familiarity with enterprise content management systems, and basic HTML/JavaScript skills. Other necessary skills include the ability to work independently and within a dynamic team environment; demonstrated interpersonal skills and teamwork; clear and concise written, verbal, and presentation skills. Cultural/global awareness and experience, as well as prior work experience within large, complex organizations is highly desirable.

 

This position will be primarily based in the D.C. (or applicable) office. ACS offers hybrid work arrangement of three days per week working in the office and two days per week working remotely. New employees are immediately eligible for this hybrid work arrangement. ACS offers relocation assistance, if applicable.
