Audience Marketing Manager, Early Career

The American Chemical Society is looking for a Audience Marketing Manager who will be responsible for identifying new potential marketing strategies and tactics to support goals for the Early Career audience segment. They will also be responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns to meet audience goals, as well as drive awareness of ACS offerings that enhance the value of Membership.

 

The position is responsible for managing digital (e.g., social), email, and offline campaigns, while exploring new potential channels. This role will work with subject matter experts, channel managers, and external vendors to reach the target audience with accurate and targeted messaging.

 

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Serve as the audience marketing expert for Early career members and prospects
  • Create and collaborate across the team to develop and implement strategic marketing plans to reach awareness, membership, and revenue targets
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to inform copy creation and messaging
  • Build content marketing strategy to attract and nurture underrepresented audience segments, identifying ways to leverage existing society content to build interest and develop relationships
  • Write copy for social posts, blogs, email, ads, and other channels as needed
  • Collaborate with marketing channel team members. May select and manage work products of external vendors.
  • Use data to track and analyze the effectiveness of campaigns. Shares data-driven insights and makes adjustments and/or recommendations for current and future planning

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, Communication, or another related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 1-3 years experience in project management or related work
  • Experience with project management tools; experience with Eloqua email/marketing automation platform or similar system, Google and/or Adobe CRM and Analytics, PowerPoint/multi-media presentation development skills
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements and report on outcomes
  • Must demonstrate a proven track record of the ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task in a flexible and fast-paced environment to effectively meet deadlines

 

This position will be primarily based in the Washington D.C. (or applicable) office. ACS employees work a hybrid work schedule, consisting of working onsite, three days per week. ACS employees are in the office on Tuesday and Wednesday with the third in-office day scheduled in consultation with the manager. While always welcome to work in the office, employees may work the other two days of the week from a location of their choice. New employees are immediately eligible for this hybrid work arrangement. ACS offers relocation assistance, if applicable.
