The Digital Transformation team fosters the adoption of tools and capabilities that enable the division to select and develop new digital products and services, providing the ACS Publications playbook, templates, examples, and training that support innovation and transformation of current practices.


ACS Publications Digital Transformation team is currently seeking a Product Portfolio Analyst. This position will be located in our headquarters in Washington, DC, with flexible work option available.


Position Summary

We are seeking a self-motivated, driven analyst with experience leading financial evaluations of new product concepts, assessing the performance of a portfolio of innovation products, and using informative graphic representations to provide impactful insights from raw data. Your work will support the daily operations of our Digital Transformation team, providing quantitative analysis of new product concepts and the overall portfolio.

The successful candidate will have experience getting things done in a highly dynamic, often evolving business environment and have strong data and financial analysis skills. They will be comfortable working across teams and functions while balancing priorities and improving processes, as needed. They will be a go getter who is eager to learn and an adept communicator who provides clear, concise, and proactive communication to stakeholders.


Position Expertise

The Publications Product Portfolio Analyst will have experience in:

  • Establishing quantitative standards and expectations for product evaluation and performance reporting (i.e. cost of product development, return on capital invested, net income contribution), and lead team members in ongoing assessment and improvements to these metrics.
  • Building “bottom-up” models for new products and services.
  • Creating, delivering, and maintaining a variety of product portfolio level reports and dashboards using SmartSheet and other foundational tools (i.e. Excel, Power BI), including real time and periodic performance reviews.
  • Identifying and producing insightful views of data, trends, and performance metrics and building presentations that “tell a story” with data.


Required Position Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of work experience in accounting, finance, product evaluation and/or data analysis with a bachelor’s degree, a master in finance, business administration, information science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience applying financial and risk assessment techniques. Knowledge of product evaluation and management processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint); Experience with data collection and analysis tools. Technologically savvy with a willingness to fully learn the tools our teams may utilize.
  • Good judgment, strong common sense, strong communication skills, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented, solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organization skills; ability to multi-task; shows initiative and creates and works plans to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changes in priorities, work demands, roles and responsibilities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative professional business relationships with all levels of management and employees.


Preferred/Optional Qualifications

  • Experience with McKinsey WAVE or similar innovation accounting applications/methodologies.
  • Experience with Design Thinking, Customer Development, Business Model Canvas and Lean Startup methodologies.
  • Experience with digital presentation/business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
  • Experience with data visualization, “storytelling with data”
