The American Chemical Society is looking for a Program Coordinator. The incumbent in this position will provide general support to the American Association of Chemistry Teachers (AACT) program by coordinating member communications, including social media and the AACT newsletter; corresponding regularly with members; administering activities of the AACT Governing Board including meetings, elections, and awards; supporting the ChemClub program; making updates and posting content to the AACT website; and providing other support to the AACT team by submitting contracts and requisitions.

 

Position Accountabilities

 

  • Works with the Program Director to administer activities of the AACT Governing Board, including the AACT chemistry teacher of the year award, ChemLuminary Award for AACT, governing board elections, and Governing Board meetings.
  • Provides general support for the ACS ChemClub program, including scheduling newsletters, corresponding with program participants, and publishing web content.
  • Works with the AACT team to add and update content on the AACT web site via the content management system. Works with the AACT Education Resource Specialist to review, edit, and publish teaching resources on the AACT website.
  • Works with the Program Director and ACS Marketing and Sales team to maintain the AACT social media presence, coordinate the production of the monthly AACT e-newsletter, and generate reports to inform renewal efforts and member campaigns.
  • Provides administrative support for the AACT team, including submitting contracts and requisitions or other duties as assigned.

 

Position Requirements

 

High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2–5 years of related experience. Strong writing and verbal communications skills for interacting with stakeholders and coordinating content production. Organizational and analytical skills with an attention to detail and comfort with learning new technologies is desirable. Outstanding interpersonal skills with superior customer service.
