The American Chemical Society is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join the Society and Administrative Technology (SAT) Department within the Washington IT Division. 

 

Division and Unit Overview

 

The Washington IT Division of the American Chemical Society provides to ACS members and the worldwide scientific community a comprehensive collection of high-quality information products and services for the practice and advancement of the chemical sciences.

Position Summary

This position reports to the Assistant Director, Society PMO, and provides business and analytical expertise across society program areas and divisions. The Senior Business Analyst is an experienced professional who is capable of acquiring and translating requirements into design and implementation for complex business systems.  This position requires the ability to work independently and take initiative while working effectively as a senior member of a project team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains consultative relationships with business resources and subject matter experts to gather information about needs, requirements, dependencies, and processes to use in implementing new processes and products
  • Uses advanced analysis skills to identify process improvement opportunities, define user stories, decompose user stories, and perform user story mapping
  • Collaborates with business and technological experts to define process requirements for development and deployment related to deliverables of assigned products
  • Creates process models, flow diagrams, and performs data analysis to drive requirements
  • Acts as liaison between user community and technical teams
  • Identifies and communicates critical issues and risks to key stakeholders and management
  • Assists Product Manager in planning and executing projects
  • Maintains high level understanding of current ACS technologies and infrastructure
