Position Summary

This position requires demonstrated experience and expertise in Project & Program Management in a technical setting, with the technical proficiency to discuss complex technical requirements and solutions with leadership in Web Strategy & Operations. The incumbent will work under the general direction of the WSO Manager, Application Technology. The incumbent will participate as an active member of the Application Development team within the Web Strategy & Operations department and will be expected to collaborate with others throughout the organization. The incumbent will be responsible for providing project management and oversight for many projects within the Application Development Team, managing priority and risk with a fine attention to detail. The incumbent will interface with business unit stakeholders across the organization to drive planning and oversight for technology projects ranging in complexity. Proactive communication with the stakeholders and technology team will be essential to success in this position.


Major components of a workday include providing project management and documentation support for technology projects, collaborating with IT & the society’s business unit stakeholders, and the planning, scheduling, and facilitating of project meetings, demos, requirements gathering sessions, and go-live coordination to ensure successful project delivery.


Position Accountabilities

  • Provide project management and documentation support for Technology Projects; Understanding of the Adobe Experience Manager ecosystem is a plus.
  • Plan, schedule, and facilitate project meetings ensuring the Business Unit stakeholder’s and Technology Team are driving to a successful implementation.
  • Elicit business requirements from stakeholders and work with the development team to translate into technical tasks.
  • Communicate highly technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure project deliverables are complete and project timelines are met through active communication with the Technology Team as well as the Manager, Application Technology.
  • Coordinate across several teams to resolve issues and mitigate project risks
  • Manage and prioritize several concurrent projects, at various project stages of planning and development.
  • Adapt to assist the team in times of high workload – willingness to get in the weeds and assist with Quality Assurance activities and perform Root Cause Analysis.
  • Participates as an active member of daily scrum, developer roundtable, and sprint planning meetings.


Education/Experience/Technological Knowledge

  • Required
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 3+ years of experience.
    • Minimum 3+ years of experience working as a Program/Project Manager supporting software development projects.
    • Ability to lead and deliver on multiple concurrent projects.
    • Ensures project deliverables and timelines are met.
    • Excellent documentation skills; creating and maintaining project requirements, roadmaps, risks, etc in Confluence.
    • Prior experience creating project roadmaps and swim lane diagrams.
    • Works well in a collaborative team setting.
    • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Proactive communicator that reports project status within the team and communicates up to leadership.
    • Ability to lead technical projects that fall outside own technical expertise.
    • Familiar with SDLC and Agile Methodologies.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to communicate with remote team members and stakeholders.


  • Highly preferred
    • Experience working in customer-facing role; consulting experience highly preferred.
    • Prior experience leading web development and/or content management system projects;  Adobe Experience Manager – AEM project experience is nice to have.
    • Experience with the Atlassian Software Development & Collaboration Tools is highly preferred, specifically JIRA & Confluence to track and document project work.


This position will be primarily based in the Washington D.C. office. ACS employees work a hybrid work schedule, consisting of working onsite, three days per week. ACS employees are in the office on Tuesday and Wednesday with the third in-office day scheduled in consultation with the manager. While always welcome to work in the office, employees may work the other two days of the week from a location of their choice. New employees are immediately eligible for this hybrid work arrangement. ACS offers relocation assistance, if applicable.
