The Digital Transformation team fosters the adoption of tools and capabilities that enable the division to select and develop new digital products and services, providing the ACS Publications playbook, templates, examples, and training that support innovation and transformation of current practices.

 

ACS Publications Digital Transformation team is currently seeking a UX Designer. This position will be located in our headquarters in Washington, DC with flexible work option available.

 

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced UX Designer to support the newly formed Digital Transformation team within ACS Publications. You will help to define processes and deliverables that apply human-centered design and design thinking methods to create new customer-facing products and services. Flexibility is a must! You may be building wireframes and prototypes one day while leading design thinking training sessions the next. Position Expertise

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Created journey maps, service blueprints, user flows and wireframes to effectively communicate experience and design concepts.
  • Developed mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate function and interaction.
  • Conducted usability tests and/or other user research and applied learnings to improve experiences.
  • Built design thinking into process and work products and assisted in educating teams on the application of human-centered design methods.
  • Developed and led design workshops and/or trainings for internal stakeholders.

 

Position Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping software (i.e. Balsamiq, Sketch, Figma, Axure, UXPin). Technologically savvy with a willingness to fully learn the tools our teams may utilize.
  • Deep understanding of UX with an appreciation for and awareness of emerging trends. Familiarity with web design standards such as U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) and UXPin.
  • Good judgment, strong common sense, strong communication skills, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented, solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organization skills; ability to multi-task; shows initiative and creates and works plans to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changes in priorities, work demands, roles and responsibilities.
  • Foster strong, collaborative working relationships with design, product, marketing, business, and tech partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous work experience leveraging web design standards such as U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) and building prototypes with UXPin.
  • Previous work experience within a digital transformation or product innovation team.
